The truth when it comes to Queensland and abortion
Pro-abortion lobbyists pushing for decriminalisation in Queensland may well try to mirror the Victorian legislation. Watch this video and discover why you need to contact your MP and tell them that you want the protection of the law to be retained.

URGENT: Crunch time is now. Contact your state MP today!
The numbers are currently being done within the Labor party ranks to push for the liberalisation of abortion. Labor has a network of women — EMILY's List — who are steamrolling the issue and we must stop this in its tracks.
Please, stop what you are doing and call your local candidate now, write, email or fax! Yes, now!
It may be a waste of time contacting your MP if she is on EMILY's List but we encourage you to do it anyway. They need to know that Queenslanders do not want abortion decriminalised and certainly do not want MORE abortion which is what happens when something like this is condoned by law.
CAIRNS ABORTION CASE RESTATES PRINCIPLE OF JUSTICE – A DETERRENT TO UNJUSTIFIABLE ABORTION
Recently, there have been strident calls for full legalisation of abortion in Queensland, as a result of an unusual case in Cairns in which a young couple was prosecuted — he for supplying drugs to procure an abortion and she for procuring her own miscarriage.
“The law in this State”, in the words of Judge McGuire (R v Bayliss & Cullen, 1986) “has not abdicated its responsibility as guardian of the silent innocence of the unborn. It must rightly use its authority to ensure that abortion on whim or caprice does not insidiously filter into our society”.
The existing law on abortion maintains a consistent message to adults that violence against their offspring is never justified, whether before or after birth. It reinforces the most important natural bond in human society — that between mother and baby — while the removal from the criminal law of any references to abortion will instruct society that it is acceptable for mothers to take the life of their young.
The position of Cherish Life Queensland is that the law in Queensland must deter adults from taking the life of their unborn baby. The current law also serves to empower women to resist pressure to have an abortion, and the current law is an essential defence for doctors and nurses who refuse to participate in unjustifiable abortion.
Cherish Life Queensland Inc wishes to make it known that we do NOT support any political party including any present at the Rally For Life on Saturday 13 March 2010.
We do, however, support individual candidates and sitting members who have been identified as pro-life, irrespective of their party.
Cherish Life Queensland (previously Queensland Right to Life) is a non-denominational, non-party political association of people who are concerned about issues relating to a person's right to life, especially in relation to abortion, infanticide, embryo experimentation and euthanasia.
GOALS
To promote a respect for and protection of the intrinsic worth of human life at all ages and all stages, and to express our commitment
by positively embracing and celebrating life ourselves.
To educate people on pro-life issues, maintaining their enthusiasm and dedication to life, and challenge the community conscience in matters of justice, equality and respect for all people born and unborn.
To strive for effective protection by law of defenceless human life - born and unborn.
To use all democratic means to persuade legislators that support for life is both a responsibility and a vote winner, and to increase the awareness in the general public of voter power.
To express our love and compassion by promoting creative, lifegiving alternatives and by encouraging the community to take responsibility for providing support and care for those oppressed by circumstances or unable to speak for themselves.
To maintain and develop a respectful and caring attitude to self and one another, and to provide the support necessary for us to be united in our commitment to life.
To engage in sensitive interaction with other groups and individuals in the pursuit of the above goals.
