I’m writing to you as a concerned voter who believes in the inherent value of every human life—born and unborn. I urge you to stand against any laws or policies that promote or expand access to abortion in Queensland.
Abortion ends the life of a vulnerable child, and it leaves many women to face the emotional and physical consequences alone. I believe our state can do better. Instead of pushing for greater access to abortion, we should be investing in real support for women—including better access to counselling, housing, financial aid, and practical services that empower them to choose life.
As my representative, I also expect you to support any bills or amendments that provide greater legal protection to unborn children, especially:
- Supporting restrictions on late-term abortion, which raise serious human rights concerns due to the deliberate ending of a human life at a stage where it could otherwise be delivered and cared for; and
- Protecting babies who are born alive after a failed abortion, by ensuring they receive proper medical care and are not left to die.
These are basic human rights issues. No child who survives an abortion should be denied medical care.
